BODY as aRCHIVE*: GLOBAL ACTS OF CREATIVE DISOBEDIENCE AND SPECULATIVE WORLD-MAKING
Immersive Digital Art, XR Installation, Social VR
HAMDEL FUTURIST COLLABORATIVE
2025-ongoing
BODY as aRCHIVE reimagines archiving as a living, immersive ecosystem of radical collective care and transnational feminist solidarity. It is built on the WOMAN LIFE FREEDOM archive an open-access archive of more than 10,000 performances, rituals, poems, and protest artworks created in support of the intersectional feminist movement in Iran. BODY as aRCHIVE examines how embodied acts of creative disobedience emerge from local strategies of resistance and circulate across diasporas. Spanning a web-based interface, XR installation, and live algorithmic performance, the project invites audiences to act as ethical participants and co-stewards of memory rather than passive spectators. Through these immersive encounters, the work exposes how embodied resistance persists across digital infrastructures under conditions of surveillance, censorship, and displacement.
